Twelve!

That is the number of trans women that have been murdered so far this year.

DETROIT (WWJ) – Police are investigating after the body of a 20-year-old black transgender woman is found in Detroit over the weekend.

Early reports claim that Amber Monroe was shot, but Detroit police are still working to get more details.

Monroe’s death puts the number of murders of a transgender women in the U.S. at 12 this year, and 10 of whom are transgender women of color

In another report it says that she has been shot 2 or 3 times before while working the streets, she was last seen getting into a car at 5 AM. For many trans women they don’t have a choice, survival sex is their only way to survive and many times the Johns are looking for a trans woman and then have regrets when they do.
