Kurt Vonnegut Dies

He was one of my favorite authors back when I was in college and his best seller just came out; “Slaughter House 5”. The book was about the bombing of Dresden where he was held as a prisoner of war when the city was firebombed by the allies. More civilian were killed that night then from the atomic bomb at Hiroshima, Vonnegut was one of a handful of survivors that night.
But my favorite book of his was the book he wrote in 1952 called “Player Piano” which was about the affects of automation and big business and their corporate values. The book dealt with unemployment, corporate cutback and greed, I think it is more fitting today’s world then it was written back in ’52.
For more details about his life read the Guardian article about him.
